Chapter 9 – Super Size Trouble

The menacing figure is standing right in front of the apartment door, basically covering it. There is no way to get to it except through that gigantic body. Vincent keeps staring at him. A very familiar face, yet he can’t put his finger on where he met this guy. Then he speaks again “Ah, it seems you still don’t have all the pieces. No matter. After tonight, you won’t need the rest of it.”

Vincent speaks silently to her. “Do you have all the things you need?”
Jenna whispers “The book of Angels. It’s right there on the coffee table.”
“The book of Angels?”
“Yeah.  It’s the big leather bound book with the weird symbol on it. And also that blue and red glowing thingy”
“I see. Okay. Stay here. Just be prepared to run”
“How?” Jenna is at a complete loss.
“We’ll improvise”

Vincent moves forward. The giant mocks him “Still the same brave fool, I see” Vincent looks him straight in the eye. He has to be at least 1 foot taller than Vincent. “Do you have a name?”
“Wow. We did quite a number on you that day. No recollection at all?? Come on…. “
“No. It must have been really ticklish comfortable massage punches. You are, after all, too fat to hit me.”
“HAHAHAHAHAHAHA…..and I forgot sarcastic too. Fine. The name’s Uvall. But I don’t think you need to remember my name when you’re DEAD!”

Vincent inches slowly while Uvall is talking. Now he’s just within an arm’s reach of the book.  He jumps to the book, takes it, and throws it to Jenna “Catch!!!!”  The book lands to Jenna’s left and she hurries to get it. “Got it!!”

Uvall is caught by surprise, and begins swinging a huge sword that comes out of nowhere. He delivers many multi directional slashes and nothing hits the target. Uvall gets frustrated, as he fights thousands of wars in his lifetime, and very rare that his victims evade his sword; yet Vincent dodges it with ease.  Uvall moves really fast for a guy his size. But Vincent is much faster. He is very agile; a combination of a fox and a monkey, if that’s even possible. He jumps to the left and right, walking on the wall, just like a seasoned Yamakasi performer.  Uvall gets more and more frustrated and chasing Vincent while brandishing his sword. The apartment is completely destroyed, with both the sword and Uvall’s massive body.

Vincent is eyeing where the compass is. He sees it under the cabinet, glowing red and blue. He jumps to the right going across the room. Uvall sees Vincent’s move, and swings the huge blade aiming for Vincent’s feet. It looks like a sure hit, until at the last second Vincent is doing a somersault and misses the sword just by a hair. Literally. The sword grazes his hair at half the somersault. Upon landing, he runs and slides down to the cabinet and grabs the compass. He dashes to Jenna. “NOW!!”

Vincent grabs her by the waist. Jenna panics “What are you doing?” Vincent says “Just hold on to the book”
Jenna screams as Vincent carries her running to the window. Uvall is charging full speed like an angry bull. Vincent leaps to the window and break it with his kick; broken glasses everywhere as they are flying outside. Jenna screams “No…noo….nnnnoooooooooooooooooo” she closes her eyes and waiting to hit the ground. From the 10th floor, the cleanup crew might have to pick them out with a spatula. After a couple seconds, nothing happens, and she hasn’t heard any splats yet. She opens her eyes and finds out that they are gliding through the air! After a soft, feathery touch landing, Vincent carries her on his back, and disappears to the darkness of the night. They can hear an animal-like, really loud roar of rage from afar.
